Your OVO Mentors
Bringing the energy with Ollie Bolwell
I'm Ollie - you can call me whatever you like. Ollie. Bollers, Ol. Whatever floats your boat.
I look after our Strategy, Delivery and Operations teams within our decarbonisation business ZCL (short for Zero Carbon Living) at OVO. ZCL's purpose is simple. Lead OVO's transition into non-energy assets and help make OVO the decarbonisation partner of choice across the UK. This is just a fancy way of saying "we want to help as many people produce less carbon in their lives - whether that's though solar panels, EV chargers, intelligent EV charging tariffs etc etc.
The role our team plays in this is essentially divided into three buckets. 1) Work with Commercial, Product & Tech teams to help define our product/service offering. 2) Deliver all the cool decarbonisation products and services through best-in-class installation capabilities and 3) provide unforgettable customer experiences.
Throughout my career so far, there's always been a bit of a common thread - people. Whether that's been building teams from scratch. Organising teams to achieve collective outcomes. Or helping figure out new ways to do things with new and pre-existing groups. Think this probably stems from being a terrible student (always wanting to chat and distract others) and playing hockey from a young age (team sport environment).
Prior to OVO, I was as EY (for my sins) - great place to learn. Terrible place if you want a life outside of work. Worked with some cool companies helping them figure out how they needed to be structured and organised based on their strategic ambitions. Prior to that I was at the BBC where I led the redesign of BBC Wales operating model and organisation design as part of their move to a new broadcast centre in the heart of Cardiff. Then prior to that I was at the Cabinet Office helping roll out a programme called NCS (National Citizen Service).
I went to Cardiff Metropolitan university - and funny story - only got in because I was semi-decent at hockey and called the national coach crying because I missed my A-Level grades. Learnt an important lesson that day. There's no substitute for hard work.
Outside of work, love a bit of DIY. Retired hockey player, now just turf up if there's a social event attached. Married to my wife Liv who's so much cooler than me it hurts and live in Cardiff. Look forward to meeting you all soon!
Bringing the energy with Owen Anderson
Hi everyone. I'm Owen, and I look after Sustainability at OVO.
I studied Oceanography (Mostly plankton) and Climate (Mostly clouds), before going on to specialise in sustainability and renewable energy. I have spent 10 years in a few different industries, from retail to healthcare, and worked on projects like solar panels on warehouses, bug hotels in car parks, and responsible timber sourcing in for doors.
These days my team and I keep an eye on all things climate, carbon, and nature in OVO. This includes managing our net zero pathways, doing all of our reporting and climate risk management, as well as supporting teams across the business to deliver decarbonisation projects.
Outside of work I trudge the canals of east london, chasing that long overdue call up to the national athletics team, and try to stop my adopted sausage dog from significantly reducing London's squirrel population.
Bringing the energy with Rebecca Otte
I am Rebecca Otte, a Product Lead at Ovo. With a year and a half of experience within the product domain, I oversee collections, payments, and schemes, collaborating closely with engineering and other departments to deliver high-value solutions.
Prior to joining OVO, I served as the sole product manager at Crowdfunder, Marie Curie, and NICCE, operating in fast-paced environments and tackling numerous challenges. My passion lies in crafting exceptional products, prioritising customer needs, and comprehensively understanding how various challenges and opportunities intersect. I have a passion for coaching and love to help people grow within their careers.
I supported running the 2023 Aleto programme programme but this year wanted to take a more 1-2-1 approach to supporting our interns.
Bringing the energy with Scott Duncan
I am Scott Duncan, Head of Solar and Storage at OVO. I lead the team who are working on scaling our solar and battery business with a mass market proposition for homeowners to make big savings on their energy bills and reduce their carbon footprint. Our team spans Commercial, Sales and Technical experts and my day-to-day involves a huge variety of work including setting strategy, managing our profitability, our product roadmap, new marketing campaigns or contracts with partners. What I love about this job and working at OVO is seeing the direct impact you're having for customers and the energy transition, the (sometimes hectic) pace which makes every day different and challenging as well as the culture of OVO, which is very special and unique to anywhere else I've worked previously.
I have always worked in the energy industry. Prior to my current role, I worked at Kaluza, OVO's sister company, where I was marketing their software platform to energy companies globally. Prior to that I was at the UK's largest energy company - Centrica - for several years working on renewable energy propositions and before that I started my career at BP. I started out on BP's graduate programme before moving into marketing strategy there. The energy world absolutely fascinates me - it's at the forefront of technology and innovation, it's very interwoven with geopolitics and working in this space gives you the opportunity to work on what I would say is the single biggest long-term challenge facing humanity - climate change.
I'm originally from Scotland but now live in Brighton with my wife. Outside of work, I enjoy running, swimming in the sea, going to see live music and playing guitar.

My role includes our Home Services, Zero Carbon Living (EVs, Heat Pumps + Solar) and Energy Solutions business lines and I also lead the Product, CLV and Growth functions across the enterprise. I love what we do at OVO and what could be more exciting than trying to decarbonise 4m homes by 2035 and at the same time create an awesome and commercially flourishing business.
Over the last 18 years I've experienced and led across the full range of startups, corporate startups, scale-ups and corporate environments. I’m passionate about tech, with a deep interest and experience in digital platforms, marketplaces, classified and e-commerce business models.
Before joining OVO I was the Group Chief Commercial Officer and UK CEO for heycar, operating across Europe and matching customers with the best used cars from selected dealers – all with quality checks, warranties and an easy to use site experience. heycar is backers include Volkswagen, Mercedes-Benz, Renault and Allianz.
This isn’t my first Energy role, earlier in my career I held a number of leadership roles at Centrica which is better known in the UK as its retail business - British Gas. My career started with a number of early-stage startups, moving into large scale corporate roles and then into corporate-funded startups backed by Centrica, Volkswagen, Daimler, Renault and Allianz.

Bringing the energy with Victoria Knight
Victoria Knight - Senior Operations Manager - Zero Carbon Living
We have an undeniable responsibility and opportunity to help customers on the transition to Zero Carbon Living and I am very proud to call that my daily grind.
A bit about my role:
As a Senior Operations Manager I’m responsible for overseeing Customer Support & Operations for all our Zero Carbon Living products and services. My team supports Energy Expert Visits, Smart Thermostat, EV Smart Charger, Solar & Battery and Heat Pump installations. We also support our industry first services (Charge Anytime & Heat Pump Plus) and innovation trials. If you’re interested in cool technology read up on Project Scurius - the world’s largest domestic Vehicle to Grid Trial.
A bit about me:
I graduated from Cardiff University in 2009 with a History & Sociology degree and I’m incredibly people centred. I’m green through and through, spending most of my spare time at my allotment growing fruit, veg and flowers.
I’ve been at OVO since October 2009…yes 1 month after we opened doors to our first customers! I’ve had 15 roles in that time, moving with the pace of a rapid start up, I have experience across Customer Care, Training, Field Services, Quality & Governance, Commercial and Operations.
That’s 14 years of keeping the customer in the room, testing, learning, solving problems and building teams from the ground up.
Keeping it real, that's also 14 years battling imposter syndrome in an industry dominated by men, in a company of exceptional, high performing peers!
