Free support for Newham sixth formers taking their next step —
university, apprenticeships, or employment.
At 17 or 18, the pressure to know exactly what comes next can feel enormous. University, apprenticeships, employment — there are more routes than ever, and it's not always easy to know which one is right for you, or how to make yourself stand out whichever path you choose.
The Newham Progression & Mentoring Programme is here to help. Delivered by the Aleto Foundation and made possible through a grant from The Gosling Foundation, this free programme gives 20 Newham sixth formers the practical skills, confidence, and mentoring to take their next step with clarity.
It begins with a full-day interactive workshop on 28th October hosted at The Collinson Group's London Bridge offices — followed by months of small-group online mentoring from Aleto alumni who've navigated exactly the kind of decisions you're facing now.
The programme is built around two things: a hands-on workshop day that gives you immediately useful skills, and months of mentoring that keeps that momentum going.
The workshop on 28th October is hosted by The Collinson Group at their London Bridge offices. It's designed to be interactive and practical — not a lecture. You'll leave with a clearer sense of what you want, what you have to offer, and a concrete 90-day action plan to help you get there.
After the workshop, you'll join a small mentoring group led by Aleto alumni — young people who've been through similar decisions and gone on to build careers across business, technology, public service, and more. They're not distant role models. They're people who get it.
