Starting Point

Eniola joined the OVO x Aleto Leadership Programme seeking guidance on how to navigate her early career. Like many high-potential professionals at the start of their journey, she was working out how to position herself not just as capable — but as someone ready to lead. Paired with a mentor whose expertise matched her goals closely, she quickly found a space where her ambitions could take shape.

The Experience

Over the course of the programme, Eniola benefited from monthly 1:1 mentoring sessions that flowed naturally between career strategy and personal development. She engaged with peers and senior leaders through networking opportunities, building lasting professional relationships. She also took part in a Challenge Day at OVO Energy — an immersive, time-pressured problem-solving session that exposed her to real-world decision-making and the company's inclusive culture.

One standout moment came when Eniola was encouraged to reach out directly to a trader for a work-shadowing opportunity. Initially hesitant, she pushed through the discomfort — and gained first-hand insight into how the business operates, as well as a new level of confidence in professional interactions.

The mentoring helped me shift my mindset from simply carrying out my role to actively shaping how I show up, contribute, and lead.

The Shift

The programme left a lasting mark on Eniola's professional outlook. She developed the ability to articulate her value clearly, seek out growth opportunities proactively, and build meaningful connections across teams and leadership levels. She became more intentional in her approach — recognising that visibility, contribution, and proactive decision-making are central to how leadership is built.

On a personal level, she gained greater self-awareness and resilience, along with a more solution-oriented approach to career challenges.
